Our business initially signed on with Jolt, looking for a better way to manage employee accountability and productivity. That was eight years ago now, and we couldn't imagine a day in the life of our business without using Jolt. Running a busy dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility has many moving parts, various shifts, and a whole host of services to track 365 days per year. We use Jolt for everything from employee onboarding to new dog evaluation visits, facility security audits, and employee reviews. Another feature we love is the information library our staff always has at their fingertips. We've loaded our entire facility's standard operating procedures into this database, including instructional photos and hands-on video instruction. Our team is never more than a click away from essential data to keep our facility running smoothly. We've integrated Jolt into the fabric of our business operations, and it has never let us down. Additionally, in recent years, we've noticed the addition of more support services and have a lovely Customer Service Success manager who is available if we have any issues. Hands down, we recommend Jolt for any business of any size.
  • Time management and tracking of daily employee productivity.
  • Allows for instructional data to be added to all our checklists, audits, etc to provide hands on training all the time!
  • Ease of use. It's a breeze to create new lists and use the lists already created
  • Mobility- my staff is on the go and being able to grab an iPad at the beginning of their shift and take it with them through the day completing tasks and allowing for more autonomy in our work force
  • Versatile. Can be use for simple list down to more complex guides and checklists with calculations and scoring.
  • Make the addition of media a little easier. Specifically video upload/embedding file types
  • More ability to customize the look of the lists when populated. More formatting options
  • Allow for certain log book notes to remain private and not viewable by all employees. We use Jolt for employee quizzes and reviews and don't want all staff to see log book notes, so we just don't use them much.
Very well suited for businesses with lots of different employees working a variety of shifts. Indispensable for our facility.

JOLT ALL THE WAY!!

We got introduced to Jolt, not too long ago. I was trained how to create lists, view reports, etc. I have created a couple of lists to help with our company. One is High Risk Checklist which helps the restaurants reassure that they are ready food FS ! I have recently created the FAST Assessment checklist to help improve Speed of Service at those locations that are extreme outliers. While creating these checklist, I have contacted Sadie and she is quick to jump on call and support in any way! I like the fact that I know if I make a mistake, we can reach out and Sadie will help!
  • Reporting
  • Notifications
  • Sometimes the app freezes
  • sometimes it doesn't sync correctly from the device where the checklist was done so on reporting side, it seems as if it wasn't completed.
We are able to see if a checklist is completed on the website, instead of requesting a picture of having to go to the location and see if the checklist has been completed

We use it to track temperature of our equipment and use the checklists. It makes keeping an eye on temps very easy and helps us with checklists for our different shifts throughout the day.
  • Easy to use
  • great customer service
  • reliable temp sensors
  • Making the setup more intutive on the app or website
  • better follow up after a purchase is made to see if everything worked out
For us the temp sensor monitoring have been a big insurance policy to make sure our refrigeration equipment is working the way it should be. Its has helped troubleshoot things that regular maintenance can't monitor.

We use Jolt as our online food safety system. We have this in several locations where we serve guests a variety of food options. This makes tracking required temperatures easier and more efficient. It is used daily in these operations during our busy Summer season. We utilize the Lists, Labels, and Communication sections of Jolt and do not use the scheduling part because we have our own system.
  • Logs temperatures
  • Syncs quickly
  • User friendly
  • Customer service
  • Website management
  • Connectivity
I think this product is great for anyone who needs to ensure food safety logs are being completed accurately and completely. It even has sections for Corrective Actions, which is super helpful if you are not around to fix every problem. The labels are a great function, and this helps alleviate misinformation or confusion on labels, like use-by dates.

We primarily use Jolt for its labeling and temperature monitoring solutions. Labeling is straightforward and easy-to-customize; their new LoRA temperature sensors combine value and connection reliability that's *much* better than anything we've experienced in 10 years. Partnership from their corporate account management is another value-add we don't often experience in our industry. Jolt continues to grow their solution offering and we are excited to expand our use of their hardware & software for years to come.
  • Easy-to-use stickers/labeling
  • Reliable and cost-effective temperature monitoring
  • Strong relationship management
  • Having all elements of their software "talk" to each other (alerts in Logbook, for example)
  • Support hold/response times can sometimes be long
Monitoring temperatures of equipment (particularly freezers, refrigerators, and thawing cabinets), sending text & email alerts based upon different scenarios.

Labeling (1x1 stickers) - time/date, expiration, product variety (think cost-effective for differentiating box meal offerings, etc.)

Checklist management (opening, closing, routine tasks, mock evaluations, etc.)

Jolt at our locations is used for scheduling and tasking. We publish our schedules in advance and ask that our team members request days off in advance; with the jolt app, they can do this without having to access a computer. Trading shifts among other team members is another function that can be used through the app.
The app is used on our Kindles as well. We have at least one Kindle at each of our locations, and the benefits we have seen include team members staying on task with less supervision. We do hope for more optimization with the Kindle tablets as they are cheaper than iPads and handle wear and tear better.
  • The print station, though pricey, is very effective and does not require resyncing or rebooting of [the] printer.
  • Feedback on reports.
  • Customer service Mon-Fri.
  • Scheduling. There are several ideas written on the suggestion board with many comments and feedback, but no work appears to be in progress. Namely, blacking out days that cannot be requested off and having closing schedules say "closing" instead of a specific time like 10 pm or 11 pm.
  • iPads work really well, but Jolt is already pricey. [It] would be awesome if Kindles worked close to iPads. [I] do not expect the same performance but would appreciate consistency. [The] print station really helps but [is] more money.
  • Jolt understands the need for having roles. But does not give you the ability to give those roles specific, meaningful access. For example, if shift leads and above were the only people who were allowed to swipe the list. Or, if certain employees were on probation before taking a picture, it required "permission." A pin from upper management. It would help hold the team members accountable, including the management who signed off on the list.
Jolt has helped in meaningful ways to help our business grow, from scheduling to tasks and accountability. The reports go back to the beginning of your contract, a useful tool for identifying trends and problem areas. There are quite a few ways that I would love to see Jolt improve, including blacking out days that cannot be taken off, setting a limit on how many team members can take off a specific day and role-specific access to the Jolt app on pads; to name a few. I'm sure the people like Ashley Shippen are helping to make the customers' voices heard and improve the product that I, and many, find useful and helpful. A must-have, hopefully, with the feedback and support of both the users and associates of Jolt.

Jolt has been an amazing tool for our restaurant. We are discovering more and more the flexibility it offers us between labeling, lists, keeping temperatures, reports, etc. Our representative Ashley has been incredibly helpful every step of the way. We are currently using it to print all of our day dots for our food, record all of our temperature logs, record our waste logs at the end of the night, and also for opening, mid-shift, and closing lists. My favorite part about Jolt is the variety of options it gives for building your lists. You can create list items with a checkmark, a yes or no button, taking a picture, and much more. I am excited to continue using Jolt and implement more and more of its features within our restaurant.
  • Printing labels or day dots
  • Offering a variety of ways to customize your lists
  • Reports and graphs of all of your lists, temperatures, and anything else you track with Jolt
  • The log in and out button for each employee was confusing to find at first.
Jolt is well suited for any restaurant. It is so easily customized to any place and gives so many options for tracking things by list. I only have experience with its applicability to food service, but I can see it being beneficial to any business that wants to sync its checklists, scheduling, and streamline its data.

Jolt is being used for all digital food safety lists and shift management lists on a daily basis. It allows us to keep food safety top of mind and a priority for every customer, every day. It is being used by our entire organization, which includes a total of eight quick-service restaurants and a management team of around 50. We're so happy to have switched over from manual food safety books to the new digital food safety lists provided by Jolt because it addresses issues with food safety checklists not being done or items being skipped. It reduces complaints due to product/food quality and ensures that we are committed to keeping our customers safe by serving safe food.
  • Business/exec support
  • Transition/onboarding
  • Customer support and response time
  • Offering more training tailored to our time zone
Whenever we have an issue or a problem that arises, our customer success manager is easily accessible and able to answer our questions right away. They're also flexible--when we had a location close down temporarily due to COVID, they were able to work on adjusting our billing to ensure that we could pay for the subscription at a later date.

We use Jolt in the restaurant to ensure food safety and quality. Jolt has given us the ability to establish standardized process checklists for pre-opening readiness, mid-day operational audits, and end-of-day closing tasks. These checklists have empowered our Team Members to carryout each required task on their own, enables Front-Line Leaders to perform daily operational checks, and allows the Management Team to pulse processes at anytime to ensure compliance. We also heavily utilize the label feature of Jolt which allows our team to keep track of critical dates and times to ensure our products are served safely and are always fresh. The convenience of printing from any remote location to a centralized printer in the kitchen has enabled our team to fully embrace this process.
  • Timely reminders of when checklists need to be executed; The team is alerted audibly and visually when checklists are coming due or when they are past due.
  • Customized text message confirmations when audits are completed/incomplete; This feedback closes the loop with the Management Team confirming the status of the required daily checklists/audits.
  • Documented proof of completion through photos; Checklist questions/items can be setup to require photos to be taken as visual evidence that a task was completed. This adds a check-and-balance feature that deters pencil whipping tasks and eases the burden on the Management Team when it comes to auditing compliance and driving accountability.
  • Remote printing from any device setup with Jolt; We have iPads throughout the restaurant communicating real-time information with various functions within the store. It is very convenient when a Team Member in one department can print on the device in front of them, while calling out to another Team Member to retrieve labels from the printer when on their way to assist with a job function.
  • We would love to see a "favorites" icon that can be enabled for any label. We have dozens of labels specific to products/processes that are grouped within a multitude of categories. If one is not familiar with which category a label is stored, it requires the use of the search function in Jolt (which is definitely a nice feature and great time saver). However, we were able to create a category called "favorites" and duplicated our frequently used labels into this location for ease of access.
Our team faced two major challenges prior to Jolt: staffing and disciplined execution. The labor market has been challenging in finding enough individuals to service the demand created by our guests. We had been running extremely lean and our fear was creating turnover due to burnout. When we stepped back to look at where our efforts were being placed daily, we found that a lot of the frustrations and fatigue could be mitigated via ownership and accountability of key processes. The checklists established clear expectations with the team and ensured process adherence consistency. Jolt has clearly had a beneficial impact on our team since implementation.

We do our scheduling with [Jolt] and use it for daily tasks that are required by regulatory bodies. It give us the feedback that we need and lets us know that all task are completed daily.
  • Task list are easily used
  • Scheduling is easy, changing templates is a plus as business needs change
  • Easy to publish or unpublish if shifts need adjusting
  • Would like to see more than 1 week to do the schedule
I think that as a food service [in the] healthcare industry it suits our needs well. I am excited to start using the printing programs through [Jolt] as well.

Jolt is used across our organisation to help ensure our compliance with our legal requirements and day-to-day operational requirements. It provides both prompts and reminders to complete tasks, alerts if key tasks have been missed and solid reporting for later review. The real gem is that these lists and tasks are scheduled to appear at the appropriate time therefore not overwhelming the user all at once.

Having migrated from a paper-based system many years ago it is difficult to see how we would manage with Jolt today. It is a critical part of our business.
  • It makes the 270+ checks we do a day appear easy. It never feels like that many!
  • It provides an instant real-time view of your business.
  • It provides accountability from employees but also recognition.
  • Highly configurable but also easy and intuitive.
  • Staff Scheduling - still someway behind the class leaders.
  • I genuinely can't think of anything else.
If you work in an industry that requires tasks to be completed on a regular basis with full visibility and accountability it's really a gem of a product. It really is a must-have in hospitality but I imagine would prove equally as valuable in many industries.

We currently use Jolt for many purposes:
Time recording with clock-in photo to verify employee's location. Jolt also interfaces with QuickBooks for payroll. The most valuable tool are shift lists. This ensures tasks are completed on each shift in a timely manner. Lists identify who actually completes each item on each list. Lists also allow employees to note deficiencies with previous shifts, needed material which generate emails to management. We use incident reporting, alcohol incident reporting, employee tardy - no show reporting. This stores records for HR purposes as well as regulatory inspections. (Health Department, Liquor Commission, etc.) We use the employee scheduling feature with ease. Employees are able to request time off or swap shifts on their own. Another valuable feature are the temperature sensors in all of our equipment. This sends text messages and emails when temps are out of range. Employee contact information is also available to selected users which allows ease of contact.
I'm sure I am missing other features that we use but am extremely satisfied with this most valuable service.
  • We have created very detailed lists to ensure nothing gets forgotten or overlooked. This also helps with holding employees accountable for required duties.
  • Temperature sensors have saved us from losing product when our cooler failed.
  • Reports for employee issues, injury/incident reports and alcohol logs allow for reporting to authorities with detailed reports.
  • QuickBooks interface saves considerable time each week.
  • Time Clock feature requires employee to take photo of location when clocking in/out.
  • I'm at a loss here. Technical support has always been there to assist. Usually user error.
One of the most valuable tools we use today.

  • Ability to connect to payroll service

We use it within the Operations department. Scheduling a mix of part-time and full-time with a constantly flexible workforce has proven invaluable. It allows visibility for the whole team, who is on shifts and working together at the same time or when someone is not on shift. And visible on many devices.
  • Access to the schedule across many devices
  • Automatic updates to the team
  • Flexibility to add as many variations to job functions in real time
  • Allow more flexibility for TimeOff function, now limited to minimum of before the week begins
  • Allow training access on mobile devices
  • Allow a 'sandbox' feature for creating an initial schedule
This is really suited for any type of workforce, it allows for the fairly unsophisticated users (tech-wise) to access and come up to speed very quickly. Easy to add new users when the workforce needs to expand with seasonal changes. If the schedule changes it is easy to make adjustments and notify only those affected.

We Jolt across our whole restaurant for two main purposes. First, we use it for printing day dots with accurate "Use By" and "Expiration" dates. Secondly, and even more importantly, we use Jolt for check lists. Those lists range from cleaning tasks to end of shift tasks. The ability to pull reports in order to see how often all of our check lists are being completed is a major help.
  • "Use by" and "Expiration" labels
  • Checklists
  • Reports for tracking checklist completion rates
  • Printer connectivity with iPad
Jolt is great if you need a program for checklists that auto populate at a specific day and or time. Knowing that the checklist is going to be there for the team to view each day, automatically resetting at the scheduled day and time provides consistency that keeps things running smoothly.

We use Jolt to document all of our HACCP and food safety records, from temperatures to lot numbers to CCP documentation and verification and corrective actions. It is great to have one central location for all records and to avoid the mess of paper. Also, it's very beneficial to be able to access the records from anywhere rather than having to be at the location.
  • Drop lists are an awesome addition to make records easier to navigate.
  • Corrective action automation is also a great recent addition.
  • The customer service is very helpful and responsive.
  • Need a "if this, then that" feature that goes beyond the yes/no options.
  • Would like the capability to upload pictures rather than having to take them at the time.
Works very well for recording temperatures and other HACCP and CCP records. We tried to use it to document recipe information per batch and lot number information, but that got to be overwhelming and cumbersome.

We are utilizing Jolt to monitor Food Safety. It allows us to do this efficiently and effectively. Jolt allows us to move away from paper logs, therefore it is more environmentally conscious and easier to access by all levels of management. We track food temperatures, complete daily lists, and other essential things throughout the workday.
  • Customer support
  • Environmentally efficient
  • Easy to access
  • There is not a consistent contact. We have had four representatives in 6 months.
  • To update a list, it takes many steps and can take a long time to update.
Jolt can be utilized well in the workplace if everyone is on the same page about the benefits it has. For some of the opening and closing checklists, it may seem like an additional task for the front line workers when they could complete it more efficiently without entering it into the iPad. However, it is extremely helpful in terms of food safety and tracking.

Currently, Jolt is being used for the food and beverage side of our business. We are utilizing the Temperature Sensors, the Date Label Printing Solutions, the Digital Forms, Recipes and Training, and Bluetooth Temperature Logs. There are other departments within our business that have identified Jolt as a solution for Site Visit Reports as well as a knowledge base of a variety of tasks needed to operate the business.

I have been researching companies in this space for 5 years and Jolt is the only company that has been able to provide a solution for all the problems we were looking to solve. On top of that, their Dev Team was willing to work with us on solutions that would improve our experience.
  • Multifaceted Solutions: temperature sensors for food service, Digital Walks for any other business. You can take Jolt's tools and customize them to improve your business, give you better insights into your company, and make changes and improvements faster.
  • Customer Support: I'm being sincere in saying that I haven't worked with a better group of people who were seriously committed to my Company's success.
  • Constantly Improving: The company is continually moving forward with features that add to their current solutions and improve them.
  • Pricing: You aren't going to find better pricing on the software or the hardware.
  • Development Sprints: They are always improving, but the speed to the deployment of features could be faster.
  • Customization: The Dashboard is solid, but being able to brand the back end to look more like my company would help me gain buy-in from all department heads and help integrate Jolt further into the company.
I take the rating very seriously. Most companies have some of the features that Jolt offers. Very few have them all. I appreciate the fact that Jolt has worked very hard to take care of all the solutions that a company in this space could utilize. They are intentional in dedicating their resources to real solutions that work, that have an impact, and can improve your food safety, your execution, your customer satisfaction, and your turnover.

I use Jolt for both of my QSR's and it takes care of all the scheduling from week to week. It also does all the checklist that the employees do when they get there or in the middle of their shifts or at closing time. We use it to handle all the communications between leadership and staff and finally it continually monitors temperatures around the store.
  • Scheduling - Employees can request off or put unavailable times in Jolt and when you make the schedule it is on the schedule in yellow so you can try to schedule around them.
  • List - You can set list to show up at certain time and days. You can have other list show up depending on the answers from another list. And you can have emails and text sent when the list is complete, or is not complete, or send depending on the results.
  • Customer Service - If you ever have any questions customer service is there not only to just answer your question but help you set up your account so it fits your needs best.
  • Communication - If you do not use their time card feature there isn't a good way to tell the staff things without sending a text or email. And if you want them to see something you can't attach an image.
  • Past Schedules - If you make a schedule and someone doesn't show up and so you move that shift to someone to cover there is no way of going back and seeing who had it first.
I would say all food service would benefit from it. It takes care of so much of the day to day cleaning and food safety stuff and if something isn't done by the time it should be you can set it up so the manager or store manager gets notified and can get it done. Scheduling is all in-house so you can see who can't work and who can very quickly and set up shift templates that carry over from week to week so you don't have to make sure you have enough people on the shift, you just drag and drop the shifts for available people!

We use Jolt at all of our Tropical Smoothie Cafe restaurant locations. Jolt enables us to create the employee schedule, print date labels for prepped food items, create and execute checklists, and approve shift swap change requests. We really enjoy Jolt and it makes our operations so much easier to run.
  • Jolt checklists help our team stay organized and divide up tasks for completion.
  • Jolt date labels are a fast and easy way to put date stickers on prepped food.
  • Jolt scheduling makes the process of creating an employee schedule very easy and simple.
  • I currently don't see any problems with Jolt, I love it!
Although I am using Jolt for restaurant operations, I can see their solutions applied to many different organization types. Scheduling, checklists, date labels, etc. It's a winner solution!

We use Jolt for operations at multiple levels. We are currently using it for all line checks/food safety management, weekly/daily cleaning tasks, opening/closing/running checklists, audits, training, recipe management and employee performance management. This tool really helps the accountability at the store level but also helps manage multiple restaurants systems globally.
  • Food Safety - Time and temp feature with blue tooth monitoring.
  • Checklists- Line check and cleaning and task checklists.
  • Customer service - The support and customer service is some of the best I have experienced.
  • Global management- I feel like there could be a better way to bring some things together more to manage more efficiently at the global level for better accountability.
  • Reporting- It's great but could be wonky in some aspects.
The system itself has really bridged the gap within our organizations systems. I feel like we really max the platform out as far as what it is capable of doing. There really isn't much that we don't utilize therefore getting every bang for our buck so to speak.

We utilize Jolt across our entire employee base including me, the owners and managers. The largest benefit we see is the "scheduling" workbench with excellent shift-management tools. Instead of us owners and managers working through shift problems and coverage thereof, our employees are able to manage those situations themselves. As they do this, the scheduling workbench automatically updates accordingly. We spend much less time trying to manage these situations and saves us a ton of time and less heartache. The other area we utilize JOLT is the food labeling feature. Our entire food database is in JOLT along with all of the "shelf-life" expiration times. This takes all of the guesswork out of the process and ensures our customers are getting safe quality food products.
  • Employee scheduling and shift management: Seamless platform to schedule our employees. Once employees have shifts assigned, they own and manage their shifts according in regard to shift-swaps, shift releases and shift pick-ups.
  • Date Labeling of Food Items: We print the desired food item and the food expiration time-stamp is known immediately. The label is attached to the food item container and the guess-work no longer exists.
  • Label Templates: Fully customizable label features: We can customize and design our own label templates.
  • Temp Log Platform: The platform is easy to utilize and input food and equipment temps. However, if not prompt to enter temps at the exact time needed, the window expires and cannot go back and plug the values in. Kills on the audit. We since created a manually paper log.
The scheduling and shift-management workbench is awesome. This alone is worth the monthly premium we pay. Also the food labeling platform is super easy and makes time-management for us owners and employees totally worth it.

Jolt helps make my life easier. Very easy to print labels, make a checklist for employees to follow, and also do my schedule. Best system I have used at any job.
  • Prints food and smoothie labels with dates on when they need to be thrown out.
  • Allows me to make a quick precise schedule while continually keeping things saved.
  • Has all information of employees for quick access.
  • When doing schedule having an add in for lunch breaks.
  • Syncing work numbers to phone.
  • When I’m in a rush and need to print labels.
  • Not convenient when you need to add a second shift to a person's schedule.
